Arnold D. Schatzman, Esq. (In Memoriam)
Arnold D. Schatzman (1938-2018), a founding shareholder of Schatzman & Schatzman, P.A., was a native of Miami, Florida. He received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Miami in 1960 with scholastic honors. He earned his L.L.B. degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 1964, where he was president of Bar & Gavel Honor Society, received several scholastic awards and worked with Professor High Sowards on his book on securities law.
Mr. Schatzman concentrated his practice in the areas of Complex Commercial Litigation and Commercial Transactions.
He was a past Vice-President and Board Member of the University of Miami School of Business Alumni Association. Mr. Schatzman was a member of The Florida Bar and was admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts as well as in the Federal District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and the Eleventh and Fifth Circuit Courts of Appeal. He has also been specially admitted in other state courts and the U.S. Bankruptcy for the Northern District of Florida to act as lead litigation counsel on particular cases. He was a Life Member of the Commercial Law League of America and had been a member of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida and the American Bar Association.
Mr. Schatzman was recognized in several editions of Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who Florida Lawyers editions. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve.
Mr. Schatzman lectured at continuing legal education seminars, had been a guest speaker at the Furniture Manufacturers Credit Association annual convention and has conducted educational classes for bank clients in the areas of commercial and banking law.
Mr. Schatzman was in charge of the firm’s litigation and transactional practices.
